Awning is Tāmaki Makaurau alt-rock five piece band led by guitarist/vocalist Christian Dimick with drummer Riley Noonan, bassist Damin McCabe, guitarist Ethan Broughtan and guitarist Eli Chamberlain. As a group, they create punchy, dynamic and emotive music anchored by Dimmick’s commanding and thoughtful storytelling.

Quietly stepping on to the scene in 2023, the band soon became known for their energetic live shows and catchy songwriting after the release of their 2024 EP ‘Gold Star’. 2025 saw the release of their debut self titled album, pushing the band to the forefront of the underground music scene of Aotearoa. The band recently opened for Wednesday on their Bleeds NZ Tour.
