HINA
Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland)
Genre: Lush, indie-folk
Sharing her name with a deity of the moon known throughout Polynesia, HINA is the creative mantle of Tāmaki Makaurau songwriter Amy Boroevich (Te Rarawa, Ngāti Raukawa). She has independently released two projects, "Muse" and "Omen," with the single ‘Libertine’ from "Muse" charting on the SRN Top 10, and ‘Tararua’ charting on the NZ Hot 20 Singles, with both local and international press for both projects.
Her song ‘Dangerous’ recently landed a sync with Australian legacy TV soap ‘Home & Away’. She's performed sold out headline shows in beloved local venues like Q Theatre, the former Wine Cellar, and Raynham Park, and performed at the Auckland Folk Festival, Auckland Arts Festival, at Te Papa (Wellington) and Forsyth Barr Stadium (Dunedin) supporting SIX60. HINA has been involved in the Te Reo Māori Songhubs and UK Songhubs, the former of which birthed the APRA Maioha Award-winning song ‘Me Pēhea Rā’ by Mohi Allen, Noema Te Hau III, Hēmi Kelly, and HINA.
