Mokomokai is one of Aotearoa’s most enigmatic underground hip hop acts to come out in recent years. Recently winning the Aotearoa Music Awards - Best Hiphop 2026 & Student Radio Network - Best Group 2025 alongside a hugely successful debut tour of Australia in April, Mokomokai have branded their sound well and truly - "70s soul, gritty drum loops, and confident often playful lyricism".

Mokomokai are currently releasing an ensemble project with beloved Aotearoa soul & funk artist Troy Kingi, due July 10th 2026. They are also starting work on their 4th Hiphop album - this time with international collaborations & territories in sight.
