花溪 Flowerstream

花溪 Flowerstream are a Māori/Chinese psychedelic noise soundscape duo based in Tāmaki Makaurau. Using a home-engineered electric guzheng (a Chinese zither) and drums, they create dreamy, chaotic, and improvisational music with a Chinese influence.

Flowerstream is a pioneer and one-of-a-kind existence to bring guzheng into genres such as experimental, improvisation, psychedelic, dream-pop, noise and doom in Aotearoa. In 2024 they released their debut EP Flowers Dream, which went on to be a finalist for the Auckland Live Best Independent Debut at the 2025 Taite Music Awards. They also toured China and Aotearoa in 2024.
