Beth Torrance & The Garden Party
Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland)
Genre: Honest, melodic folk
Beth Torrance is an indie-folk/rock artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau. She released her debut album 'let’s move to the seaside and never feel lonely again' in 2022, co-produced with Karl Steven (Supergroove). The title track appeared in the Aotearoa TV show Friends Like Her.
In 2024, she released her debut EP Tiny Flowers (through indie label Particle Recordings) on CD, featuring original illustrations by political cartoonist for The Observer, Chris Riddell. The EP secured a place at #20 on the Hot Aotearoa Singles Chart, #1 on the 95bFM Top Ten (where it remained for five weeks) and #7 on the SRN Top 10. It also enjoyed airplay on renowned Los Angeles student radio station KXLU. To celebrate the release, she completed a mini tour with dates in Auckland and Wellington.
She is now working on an EP with full band backing, set to be released in October of this year, in anticipation of her trip to the US in late 2025 / early 2026.
