Jo has been the CEO at Recorded Music NZ since April 2022. Jo is a firm believer in the value of music and the rights of creators, and she is passionate about improving the environment for all artists to thrive. In addition to her role at Recorded Music NZ, Jo is part of the group leading SoundCheck Aotearoa, which has a mission to foster a safe and inclusive culture for the music community. Previously Jo was General Counsel and Govt Affairs for Recorded Music NZ, leading pan-industry initiatives including the music industry response to the government’s review of copyright law. Prior to this, Jo spent over two decades as a lawyer, over a decade as General Counsel at IFPI, the organisation which represents the recording industry globally.
