Princess Chelsea
Lil' Chief Artist Keynote

Chelsea’s cinematic, dreamy pop—laced with sardonic lyrical wit—has been honed over 15 years and five albums, earning her a steadily growing global cult following. A producer and engineer who brings a distinctive personal touch to every aspect of her music, Chelsea’s sound blends chamber pop with 80s synths, baroque flourishes, and unexpected flashes of heavy metal.
Her 2011 Nancy & Lee-inspired duet Cigarette Duet and 2018 girl-group grunge anthem I Love My Boyfriend found new life through the grassroots influence of the TikTok generation, helping push her further into the public consciousness.
In 2023, Chelsea released Everything is Going to Be Alright, a deeply personal album that went on to win the prestigious Taite Music Prize and earned her the Best Alternative Artist title at the 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards.
Her live outfit, Princess Chelsea & The Dream Warriors, has been hailed as one of the best bands in the country. Featuring some of Auckland’s brightest young talent—Jasmine Balmer (Being), Joshua Worthington-Church (Exploding Rainbow Orchestra), Simeon Kavanagh-Vincent, Joe Kaptein, and Davis Harris (Sulfate)—the group brings Chelsea’s lush sound to life with both power and precision.
